Jharkhand government urged to develop tourism
Ranchi, May 18 (UNI) Former Bihar Tourism Minister and RJD Dalit cell president Suresh Paswan today urged the Jharkhand government to develop the basic infrastructure for the state's tourism sector.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Paswan said Jharkhand had immense opportunity in tourism sector adding by virtue of nature the state had a number of places which could be developed as tourist spots.
Mr Paswan said development of basic infrastructure and providing better service to tourist would bring foreign currency to the state.
Criticising the Bihar government, the former tourism minister said the government, led by Nitish Kumar, failed to develop the sector and funds were not utilised.
The RJD leader said that the erstwhile RJD government had initiated various steps to develop tourism sector like beginning of 'Buddha Mahotsav' and several other programmes to attract tourists, but the present NDA government had to failed to continue such programmes.
