Gupta demands fixing of conversion charges for regularising property

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Chairman of the MCD Standing Committee Vijender Gupta today demanded that the Centre immediately fix rates of conversion charges for regularization of properties covered under Master Plan of Delhi 2021.

In a statement issued here, Mr Gupta said the rates of conversion charges fixed vide the September 20 notification by the Centre. were on ''the higher side''.

He said the BJP had lodged its protest against those rates when they were notified. The Central Government at that time had assured to those rates would be brought down.

Mr Gupta urged the Centre that the decrease in these rates not be delayed now so as to enable people to get their properties regularised after payment of conversion charges.

Mr Gupta further informed that now the owners/allottees/ultimate users of premises can get such properties regularised which are situated at residential development and are operating as banks, nursing homes, guest houses and lodging houses by paying annual charges and cost of parking which are calculated on self-assessment basis.

He said that the last date for depositing applications as well as conversion charges is June 30. He also assured that if the following rates are decreased by Central government, then the axcess amount will be refunded.
