Foreign reserves go further down to USD 203.991 billion
Mumbai, May 18 (UNI) India's foreign reserves went further down this week to USD 203.991 billion from USD 204.009 billion last week, according to the central bank's weekly statistical report.
The foreign currency assets are at USD 196.493 billion, while total gold reserves remain unchanged at 7.036 billion.
Country's reserve position in the international monetary fund(IMF) also came down by one billion to 461 billion, said the report. The aggregate deposits of scheduled commercial banks in India is at Rs 2,600,117 crore.
The central bank said the foreign currency assets expressed in US dollar terms included the effect of appreciation or depreciation of other currencies held in its reserves such as Euro, Pound and Yen.
The foreign exchange reserves include India's reserve tranche position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
