Central Railway to operate megablock on Sunday

Mumbai, May 18 (UNI) The Central Railway (CR) will operate mega blocks on its suburban sections to undertake maintenance work on the Central and Harbour lines on May 20.

The megablock will be operational on down Harbour line between Masjid and Chunabhati stations betweeen 1100 hrs and 1600 hrs. On Up and Dn lines between Wadala and Mahim stations between 1110 hrs and 1550 hrs, a CR release said here today.

Effectively, all the down Harbour line train services between CST and Panvel/Belapur, leaving CST from 1015 hrs to 1551 hrs will run via the main line between CST and Kurla and further on the down Harbour line proper during the block. The Up Harbour line services from Panvel/Belapur to CSTM will run on the proper line.

The down Harbour line train services from CSTM to Bandra/Andheri will be suspended from 1041 hrs till 1600 hrs. Similarly, the train services on Up Harbour line from Bandra/Andheri to CST leaving from 1049 hrs to 1555 hrs will also be suspended. Passengers using the Harbour line for Bandra/Andheri will be allowed to travel via the main line and Western Railways using their valid card/season tickets from 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs on the day.

Mega block will also be operated on the Up fast line between Mulund and Matunga from 1100 hrs to 1600 hrs.

All the Up fast line trains from Thane between 1050 hrs and 1543 hrs will be diverted on the Up slow line between Mulund and Matunga stations. The trains will halt at all the stations between Mulund and Sion, then be diverted on Up fast line proper.

There will also be a 90 minute block on the Dn line between Kalyan and Ambernath from 1015 hrs to 1145 hrs. All local trains leaving CSTM at 0916, 0940, 0948 and 1023 hrs and Karjat local trains leaving CSTM at 0934 hrs along with locals leaving Badlapur at 1056, 1118, 1147, 1214 hrs and trains from Karjat at 1216 hrs will remain cancelled on the day, the release added.
