Madurai, May 18 (UNI) Acclaimed Writer Arundhati Roy, Journalists Kuldip Nayar and B G Varghese will take part in a demonstration here on May 31 in support of their demand to expand the scope of the CBI probe in the 'Dinakaran Attack Case' to include all incidents of violence connected with it.
Announcing this at a press conference here, leaders of Human Rights Protection Vigil and Agitation Committee recalled the incident in which three employees of 'Dinakaran' were killed in violence let loose allegedly by supporters of Tamil Nadu M K Azhagiri, son of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, on May nine.
They sought the immediate arrest of Mr Azhagiri, Madurai Mayor K Thenmozhi and Former Mayor P Kuzhandaivelu among others in connection with the incident and said the complaint filed by the paper's News Editor must be taken on record and not on the petition filed on behalf of the police.
They also wanted the action on the police officers concerned for dereliction of duty.
