250 fall sick of enteric disease

Bongaon, May 18 (UNI) About 250 residents of Jhaukhali village under Bagdah police station fell sick, some of them seriously, from enteric disease during the past two days, official sources today said.

While 105 people were admitted to the local state general hospitals, district health department had set up medical camp and sent a team to the affected area.

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer (Health) Dr Kusum Adhikary visited the affected area and took stock of the situation, sources said.

He said water was contaminated in the PHE supply line and sample of water was collected for necessary test.
