24 people, including 19 of marriage party killed in road mishaps
Bangalore, May 18 (UNI) As many as Twenty four people, including 19 members of a marriage party including the bride, were killed on the spot and 28 others injured in four separate road mishaps during the last 24 hours in Karnataka.
Police said 19 people were killed and 22 others injured when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus collided with a tempo at Halur cross on National High-way 13, near Bellary early today.
The deceased, which included eight women, six children and the driver were travelling in the tempo.
In other incident, two people, including a 10-year-old boy, were killed and five others were injured when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a KSRTC bus near Devanahalli in Mandya District last night.
In another mishap, two people, including a woman were killed near Yakkundi town in Bijapur district last night in a hit and run case. The police found the bodies in the Bijapur-Pune National High-way this afternoon and figured that the incident took place last night.
In another incident, a motorcyclist was killed and another seriously injured when their vehicle collided head-on near Zalki in Bijapur district, last night.
