24 candidates in fray in Daltonganj bypoll

Daltonganj, May 18 (UNI) Altogther 24 candidates remained in the fray for the bypoll to the Daltonganj Assembly seat after an independent candidate withdrew his nomiation today.

Sub-Divisional Officer-cum-electoral officer for the bypoll Awdesh Upadhyay said, Mr Lubhawan Ram had withdrawn his nomination for the June two byelections.

Altogether 26 candidates had filed their nominations out of which one was cancelled and another withdrawn.

The bypoll was necessitated after sitting MLA and JD(U) leader Inder Singh Namdhari resigned from the seat on March 29.
