19 of marriage party killed in road mishap

Bellary, Karnataka, May 18 (UNI) Nineteen members of a marriage party, including the bride, were killed on the spot and 22 others injured when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus collided with a tempo at Halur Cross on National Highway-13, near here, today.

Police said the deceased included eight women, six children and tempo driver. All of them were travelling in the tempo.

The mishap occurred when the tempo, proceeding to Bangalore from Talikote, joined the national highway from a bypass road. The bus was bound for Bangalore from Bilgi.

The victims were returning after the marriage and most of them belonged to Bangalore. The injured were admitted to hospitals in Chitraduraga and Kudligi.
