K'taka: 19 of marriage party killed in road mishap

Bellary, May 18: Nineteen members of a marriage party, including the bride, were killed on the spot and 22 others injured when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus collided with a tempo at Halur Cross on National Highway No. 13 near here in the early hours of today.

Police said that the deceased included eight women, including the bride, six children and the tempo driver. All of them were travelling in the tempo.

The Bus was bound for Bangalore from Bilgi and the tempo was coming to Bangalore from Talikote when the mishap occurred.

The victims were returning after the marriage and most of them belonged to Bangalore. The injured were admitted to hospitals in Chitraduraga and Kudligi.
