Voters list manipulation:Salman demands stricter EC action
New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Salman Khurshid today lodged protest with the Election Commission against its ''inaction'' in fixing responsibility in the matter of photograhps going missing from 13000 Electoral Photo I-cards(EPIC) during the recently concluded elections in the state.
He also alleged that action taken against officers concerned for manipulation of voters' list in Kayamganj was inadequate, and also that the Central forces and the state police were a mute spectator to SP candidate Chote Singh Yadav allegedly intimidating voters during repoll in Kayamganj.
In a letter to the Commission, Mr Khurshid also sought to draw the Commission's attention to the tight regime imposed for ration cards as a form of identification, which he said was a major cause of relatively low polling even in repoll.
He has sought time from the Commission to present his case to it in person.
