Unlimited call scheme introduced at AP telecom circle

Hyderabad, May 17 (UNI) Unlimited call scheme will be available to all Landlines and Wireless Loop Line (WLL) phone customers of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) of Andhra Pradesh Telecom Circle from today, its Chief General Manager S Ramalingam said.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the scheme was presently operational in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

The scheme was introduced to mark the World Telecom Day, he added.

The Andhra Telecom circle, in its customer-oriented drive, introduced the 'Customer Care Portal' to meet the needs and requirements of the customers. The Portal was designed to provide services such as applying for new phone connection and request for shifting the telephone of customers. The subscribers would be informed periodically about the status of their applications through e-mails.

The customer registered on the customer care portal could apply for any new services like landline and broadband connection, and they would be given a unique request ID to keep track of the request, he added.

He said the World Telecommunication Day was being celebrated since 1969 and May 17 marks the anniversary of the signature of the first International Telegraph Convention and the creation of the International Telecommunication Union.

Talking about this year's theme of 'connecting the young, he said young people were the best promoters of information and communication technologies and they were key contributors to building an inclusive information society.
