Two forest employees smuggling timber arrested in Doda

Jammu, May 17 (UNI) Two forest department employees were arrested today while trying to transport illicit timber in government vehicle in Doda distrcit of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.

Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended accountant Shabir Ahmed of Shandu Bhalla and driver Ashor Kumar of Khilani, of forest division Doda while they were carrying 70 wood logs of Deodar trees in a government vehicle, SSP Doda Manohar Singh told UNI.

Police have seized the vehicle and registered an FIR at Assar police station, he added.
