Nagpur, May 17 (UNI) Police here today claimed that they have cracked last year's murder case of an age-old couple by arresting three persons, including their son, in this connection.

Giving details of the grusome murder case to newsmen here, Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay said the industrialist V K Jain and his wife Kamladevi were killed by their son Madhavendra, as they had planned to donate their property to some religious trust.

Madhavendra then hatched a plan to kill his parents and used his father's driver and another man to get the task executed. He also promsied them money in lieu of the crime, he said.

The police had already conducted narco tests on Madhavendra and one of the two accomplices sometime ago, but needed time to make the case fool-proof, Mr Upadhyay said.

On October 18 last year, V K Jain (72) and Kamladevi (65) were found lying in a pool of blood in their Shivaji Nagar residence. The killing of senior citizens in the one of the posh localities of the city had shocked the people. With Madhavendra's arrest, a sustained investigation, narco tests on him and one of his accomplices helped the police to crack the case, he added.
