Telugu Desam Party politicising Babli issue: AP CM

Hyderabad, May 17: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy alleged that the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was politicising the controversial Babli project issue by organising dharnas and rallies in national capital.

Dr Reddy said the Supreme Court has already directed the Maharastra government to stop the construction of gates at the project, until the final verdict. The TDP, however, was sensationalising the issue to gain political mileage, he alleged.

Pointing out that it is well-nigh impossible for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to resolve the issue when the matter is sub-judice and the TDP failed to realise it when they met Dr Singh at New Delhi yesterday.

The TDP was bent upon creating confusion among the people on Babli issue, he alleged.
