Suspected Maoists burn bus

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, May 17 (UNI) Suspected Maoist naxalites burnt a bus near Pamidipadu village in Prakasham district of Andhra Pradesh, this evening.

According to police, eight unidentified people boarded the bus, proceeding from Raparla village to Addanki at Ommevaram village. When the bus reached a culvert near Pamidipadu village, they threatened the driver and the passengers to alight from the bus. Later, they set the bus on fire and escaped under the cover of darkness.

Police suspect them to be Maoists as they had not robbed any passenger.
