Surface communication disrupts in Arunachal

Itanagar, May 17 (UNI) Traffic between Dibang and Lower Dibang valley districts has been disrupted following landslides at several locations due to incessant rainfall during the last couple of days.

Official sources here today said that some passengers were stranded on way to Anini in Arzoo circle headquarter while others were stranded at Roing, including deputy commissioner Duyu Rangka, due to bad weather ''There is only 166 quintals of rice in stock, which would become scarce if the weather continues to remain bad,'' district supply officer Buru Laling informed, adding, the buffer stock for the monsoon season was yet to arrive as the stock could not be lifted by carriage contractors following ongoing national highway blockade at Doomdooma in Asom.

The district administration is also running out of fuel and other items and the situation might aggravate if the blockade continues, sources added.
