The tyre company honoured this accomplishment of police with a reward of Rs 1 lakh and handed over a bank draft yesterday.

Superintendent of Police Dr Asha Mathur said an unidentified corpse had been recovered from a well at Sirpoyi village near Agar on April 27. On the same day, a container of tyres plying from Hyderabad to Delhi was found empty at Modak in Kota district of Rajasthan.

Later, police identified the deceased as tyre-container driver Bahadur Singh from his clothes and other articles.

Later, 2700 tyres worth about Rs 20 lakh were recovered from the godown of Agar-resident businessman Purushottam Kasera.

The accused revealed that they killed Bahadur Singh after forcing him to drink large quantity of alcohol at a 'Dhaba' (roadside restaurant) in Ujjain. They tampered with the body to destroy identity and dumped the body in a well near Agar.

They also sold tyres worth Rs 1 lakh to an Indore-based businessman Arjun Singh Sardar, who was yet to be arrested.
