Sikhs protest against Dera Sacha Sauda chief in Jammu
Jammu, May 17 (UNI) Hundreds of Sikh protesters today demanded action against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for his alleged 'imitation' of the 10th Guru Govind Singh.
Many Sikh organisations continued to hold demonstration at various places in the city and its outskirts and burnt the effigies of Dera Sacha Sauda chief as a mark of displeasure.
Over hundred protesters gathered at Rani Bagh near Jammu airport this morning and later burnt Dera Sacha Sauda chief's effigy, police sources said.
Similar protests were also reported from various other places.
The protests were by and large peaceful, said the police.
The Sikhs were agitating against the reports that Sant Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh had dressed him self up like 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Govind Singh at a public function at Dera Salabatpura in Bathinda (Punjab).
