RSS's Sikh front seeks sealing of Dera Sacha Sauda premises

New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) The Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, a Sikh front of the RSS, today sought the sealing of Dera Sacha Sauda premises in Sirsa, accusing its chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of attempting to desecrate the tenets and principles of the Sikh religion.

''The political forces which orchestrated clashes between the Sikhs and the Nirankaris during the late 1970s, have once again become active and prompted the Sirsa Dera for confrontations with Sikhs,''said Sangat leaders Gurcharan Singh Gill and Rulda Singh in a statement here.

''How could the Dera Chief project himself as Guru Gobind Singh and baptise his followers on the pattern of the tenth Sikh Guru,'' Mr Rulda Singh said.

One should remember that the Guru created a 'Khalsa Order' after sacrificing his three generations and four sons for the purpose, Mr Singh said, adding that if the Guru had not stood up for the freedom of the religion, the Hindu religion would not have been in the same position as it is found today.

''No one has any right to mimic and copy the creation of Khalsa Order and holy practice of baptising Sikhs for vested interests particularly by a person whose conduct is under the CBI scrutiny and who himself is charged with a murder and sexual exploitation,'' the statement said.

The Sangat demanded that the Dera Chief should be booked under 295(A), 298 and 151 (A) of Indian Penal Code for hurting sentiments of the Sikhs and violating the peace and harmony in Punjab, Haryana and various other parts of the country.
