RS adjourned for 15 min to sort out tangle

New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha today got adjourned for 15 minutes to sort out confusion after Samajwadi Party members sought to raise an issue during Zero Hour without notice.

As soon as the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan ordered transaction of Securities Contracts (Regulation) Amendment Bill, there were serious objections from Mr Amar Singh (SP). The reaction was so sudden that even the Chair wanted to know the issue the SP members wanted to raise.

''There is no notice and you start off in the House,'' Mr Khan admonished the MPs. When there was no let up from the protests, the Chair adjourned the House for 15 minutes to sort out the problem.
