Promotion of 585 govt teachers stayed
Etawah, May 17 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has stayed the promotion of 585 primary school teachers here after irregularities were detected in the process.
According to sources, the District Magistrate, the Chief Development Officer and other senior officials had conducted a raid on the departmental office yesterday.
It was alleged that an amount of Rs 50 lakh was taken as bribe for some promotions. Besides, another complaint regarding an alleged furniture scam worth Rs 3.5 crore was also made.
Meanwhile, Basic Education Officer Sadhu Singh Yadav has been suspended and an FIR was being lodged against him.
