Prohibitory orders in Krishna District

Machilipatnam, May 17 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 have been clamped in Krishna district of Anas, a precautionery measure in view of the Left parties' programme of grabbing Government lands.

Including Endowment lands alotted to various departments and lands assigned in the past to poor people here, Additional Magistrate and Joint Collector of Krishna District S Surendra Nair announced here today.

The prohibitory orders would be in force for two months, he said.

He added that the programme was causing tension in villages and leading to serious law and order problem.

He also warned that those violating the prohibitory orders would be taken into custody.
