Police arrests history-sheeter

Varanasi, May 17 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of the district police here today arrested a hardcore criminal from neighbouring Bihar.

Ram Avtar Bind of Kaimur district, Bihar was nabbed from Rohania area. A factorymade grenade was also recovered from him, SOG sources said.

He was wanted in at least 11 cases of abduction, attempt to murder, besides, offences under Arms Act and Explosive Substance Act.

On interrogation, Ram Avtar admitted to being in the city to meet one of his associates from Munger (Bihar) operating from Varanasi. Search is on to nab his associates.

Further investigations were on to ascertain his naxal connections.
