PM to lay foundation stone of power plant in Haryana
Chandigarh, May 17 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will lay the foundation stone of 1200 MW Hisar Thermal Power Project on May 19 at village Khader near Barwala in Hisar district.
Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister would also address a public meeting in grain market, Barwala.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh said the government had already acquired 989 acres of land for the power project near Barwala.
The project has been included by the Ministry of Power in the capacity addition programme for 11th plan. The first 600 MW Unit of the project is scheduled for commissioning in December, 2009 and the second of the same capacity in March 2010.
The State would get 288 lakh units of electricity daily after commissioning of these units.
