PIB to organise press information campaign
Vijayawada, May 17 (UNI) The Press Information Bureau (PIB) will organise a public information campaign in eight districts in Andhra Pradesh in the current fiscal year.
Talking to newspersons here, PIB Deputy Director General (media and communications) Hyderabad, M V V S Murthy said the campaign was aimed at creating awareness among the people on government's welfare schemes such as Bharat Nirman, Sarvashika Abhiyan, Mid-day Meals, Child Development and National Rural Health Programme and on Right to Information Act and Rural Employment Assurance Scheme.
The campaigns would be held in eight districts - Ranga Reddy, Nellore, Adilabad, Prakasham, Guntur, Kurnool, Mahaboobnagar and East Godavari - from June to February, he added.
One mandal level village would be selected for this purpose. In the four-day programme in each district, demonstrations, cultural programmes and screening of films on welfare schemes would be held, besides opening government stalls to enbale the people to easily understand the benefits of ongoing welfare schemes, Mr Murthy said.
Earlier, Mr Murthy inaugurated PIB conference hall in the newly shifted PIB premises at Autonagar.
