'Multani mitti' pack after rains for Taj Mahal!

Agra, May 17: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has finalised a new plan for the upkeep of the world famous monument of Taj Mahal.

The rising accumulation of Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM) is making Taj Mahal 'yellowish'.

Therefore, ASI has decided to give wings to its plan of restoring and preserving the beauty of the 'monument of love', sources said here today.

The Taj would be treated with a 'multani mitti' pack after the rainy season and left for a few days.

This would rid the magnificient edifice of SPM and leave its white marble clean and shiney.

Expressing concern over the state of Taj Mahal, the Parliamentary Committee on Monday had asked for immediate steps to remedy the situation.

In its report, the committee had mentioned SPM as the reason behind the changing colour of Taj Mahal.
