MP govt to pay fees for 491 nurses-to-be
Bhopal, May 17 (UNI) As many as 491 female students who completed higher secondary schooling have been admitted in 20 private nursing colleges under the Madhya Pradesh government's Swawlamban Yojana initiated last year in view of paucity of nursing staff, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi said here today.
''The government will pay the fees,'' he assured in a release.
The state, which has 39 private nursing colleges, would require more than 4,000 nurses in coming years. As many as 2,200 posts -- 1,200 rural, 500 each for district hospitals and medical colleges -- were created last year and 900 filled. Besides, 3,000 posts would be created.
