Modi's team signs MoUs in Korea

Gandhinagar, May 17 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his delegation visited Saemangeum project which is similar to the state's Kalpasar project and held a three-hour long detailed discussion over Krean collaboration in Kalpasar project.

The Chief Minister was impressed by the Korean effort in building the longest dyke through coastal reclamation on Yellow Sea which is 34 kms into the sea. This has resulted in one of the biggest fresh water reservoir for Korea, saaid an official release here.

An MoU was also signed between Gujarat State Financial Corporation and Korea Rural Community and Agriculture Cooperation. Another MoU was signed between Gujarat State Fertilzers and Chemicals Ltd and Gujarat Green Revolution Company and Korean Rural Community and Agriculture Corporation for enhancing collaboration in the field of agriculture development, Kalpasar project and agro-based rural economy during the meeting of the Chief Minister and Korean government Minister for agriculture and forestry Mr Park Hong-soo in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea.

President of Korea Rural Community and Agriculture cooperation Mr Lim Soo-jin and his entire team welcomed the delgation at the project site. The KRC will help Gujarat in modernising and maintaining irrigation systems.

Mr Modi is expected to hold meetings with president of Daewoo International company Yong-won-kog later today.
