Metal prices fall on increased stock supply
Mumbai, May 17 (UNI) Metal prices fell on increased stock supply, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils came down by Rs 500 per quintal each on sluggish demand by bulk consumers and Brass cutting also drifted lower by Rs 400 per quintal on poor demand.
In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars slashed by Rs 800 per quintal on improved offers by stockists.
Tin slab and Nickel cathode dropped by Rs five and Rs 20 per kg respectively, on thin buying support.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,000, Copper utensils - Rs 31,000, Brass utensils - Rs 25,300, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,100 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,800, Lead ingots - Rs 9,950, Tin slab - Rs 730 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,280 (per kg).
