Mayawati retains 43 depts: Satish Mishra attached to CM office

Lucknow, May 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati tonight distributed portfolios among her ministers, retaining 43 major departments, including Home and Finance.

Mr Satish Chandra Mishra, who was administered oath yesterday, has been attached to the Chief Minister office.

The portfolios have been distributed to 19 cabinet, 20 minister of state (independent charge) and nine minister of state.

Another close confidant of the Chief Minister, Nasimuddin Siddiqui has been alloted nine major departments, including Excise, PWD, Irrigation, Housing and Sugarcane development.

Altogether 48 ministers, including Ms Mayawati took the oath of the office on May 13 after Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won absolute majority in the state assembly elections. BSP has won 206 seats out of the total 402 seats in the State assembly which went to polls in seven phases in April-May.
