Kumaraswamy assures to eradicate mysterious Handigodu Disease

Sagara, Karnataka, May 17(UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today assured that he would take all measures to eradicate the mysterious Handigodu Disease rampant in Malnad region in the state.

Speaking to newsmen on his way to Handigodu village, where Chief Minister will stay in one of the victim's house, he said that he has summoned all the concerned officials to discuss the matter in detail to find lasting solution to the disease.

On the reports about large scale encroachment of forest land in Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Hassan districts, Mr Kumaraswamy said that he had constituted a high-level officials committee to look into the matter and submit a report within three months. Action would be initiated against the guilty after receiving the report.

Replying to a question, Mr Kumaraswamy said that the decision to field JD(S) candidate for the June two byelection to Ullal Assembly seat was taken by party high command. "It is a friendly contest among the coalition partners" he added.
