Kerala CPI(M) leader visits Maudhani
Coimbatore, May 17 (UNI) Kerala State Communist Party of India (Marxist) Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan visited People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Abdul Nasser Maudhani at the Central Prison here, this aftrenoon.
He was accompanied by Kerala Rajya Sabha MP A Vijayaraghavan and PDP working Chairman Poonthurai Siraj.
The CPI(M) leader, however did not talk to newspersons who were waiting outside, after the one-hour long meeting.
Later, Mr Siraj told newspersons that Mr Vijayan enquired about Maudhani's health. He was walking without an artificial limb and was also suffering from spondilitis and diabetes. The CPI(M) leader also discussed the State's political situation on in backdrop of the LDF Government's completion of one year in power.
Mr Maudhani was one of the accused in the 1998 Coimbatore serial bomb blast case in which 58 persons were killed and over 250 were injured. The trial has been completed in that case and verdict is awaited.
