JPDA to launch agitation against state govt
Ranchi, May 17 (UNI) Jharkhand Petrol Dealers Asociation (JPDA) has decided to launch agitation against the state government in support of their demands including reduction of sales tax rate on diesel.
JPDA president Ashok Kumar Singh said here today that the state government was 'apathetical' to their demands which forced them to launch agitation against the government.
Mr Singh said Chief Minister Madhu Koda was also intimated about their demands, which included reduction of sales tax on diesel from 20 per cent to 12 per cent and payments of dues of various outlets lying with the state government.
The other few demands were application of first point taxation on lubricants providing adequate protection to the retail outlets and exemption from filing VAT returns.
He said the petrol pump owners would stop uplifting petroleum products from June one if their demands were not fulfilled.
