JB Chemicals declares NP low at Rs 1.09 cr for Q4 FY 07

Mumbai, May 17 (UNI) JB Chemicals&Pharmaceuticals Ltd has posted a higher net profit (profit after tax) at Rs 10.9 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 1.54 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Total Income (net of excise) is higher at Rs 14.58 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 11.70 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.

The Company has posted a profit after tax of Rs 7.10 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 7.09 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total Income (net of excise) is also positive at Rs 54.21 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 47.75 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, the Company informed BSE.

The High Court of Judicature of Bombay, at Mumbai sanctioned the Scheme of Amalgamation of Lekar Healthcare Ltd (LHL) a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, with the Company on February 02, 2007.

Accordingly, on filing of the said order with the Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra, Mumbai, the Scheme of Amalgamation became effective from April 01, 2006, the appointed date.

In view of the said Amalgamation the annual accounts include the figures of LHL. Hence, the figures for the fourth quarter as well as the current year are not comparable with the similar period of the previous year.
