Insurance Branch Manager in ACB trap

Visakhapatnam, May 17 (UNI) The CBI officials today caught red-handed the Branch Manager of United Insurance India Limited (UIIL) S M Basha for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a farmer of Narsipatnam in the district.

CBI Circle Inspector D Prasada Rao said the farmer, P Satyanarayana had bought a buffalo through bank finance and got the insurance coverage from the local branch of UIIL.

The buffalo died recently and Mr Satyanarayana approached the Branch Manager for claim. He demanded Rs 1,000 for giving the claim form.

The officials laid a trap and caught the Manager red-handed when he was accepting the bribe, he added.
