Indo-US SME colloboration through BMP programme:McCarthy

Kolkata, May 17 (UNI) In a bid to increase the Indo-US bilateral trade from US billion in 2006 to US billion in 2009, Indian companies has opportunity to collaborate with America in crude oil, consumer goods, industrial products, raw material, food&beverages through World Trade Centre, Rhode Island.

Speaking at a press conferenece here today, US Consul General in Kolkata Henry V Jardine said the recent MoU between Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and World Trade Centre (WTC), Rhode Island.

WTC, Rhode Island Director Dennis McCarthy said following the MoU, the WTC would undertake a Business Matching Programme(BMP) to enable Indian SME entrepreneurs to scout for partners in US and vice-versa.

Under BMP, WTC would appoint a consultant in US to prepare client register which would include list of the American companies interested to invest in Indian or collaborate with Indian companies with sectoral anaylisis, company's detail's and feasibility, finacial analysis. Then, in India another consultant would be appointed to shortlist three matching partners. The MBP programme aims to help Indoa-US colloaborations in SME segment.

A business matching conference on June 20, in which various Indian and US MNCs would participate.

The BMP programme would be simulataneously introduced in Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi.
