HCL launches CDC in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, May 17 (UNI) HCL Infosystems today launched HCL Career Development Center (CDC) here which offers specially-designed courses in hardware, software and networking.

HCL Infosystems executive vice president Rajendra Kumar, addressing a press conference, said the HCL is offering a three-month full-time and a one-year part-time course which have been designed keeping in mind the specific needs of modern-day organisations.

''Our students would be 'industry-ready professionals' who would not need any further training by their prospective employers,'' he claimed.

Mr Kumar said the fee struture would range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 depending upon the modules selected by the students.

The HCL-CDC course involves seven modules, 21 projects and 70 online tests as part of the academic curriculum. Placement support would be provided to all students who excel in their academics and display a remarkable performance during the course, Mr Kumar said.

Meanwhile, Mr Kumar informed that HCL plans to set up 100 more Centre across the country in the next 12 to 15 months. In Gujarat, centres would be opened in Baroda, Surat and Rajkot very soon, he said.

While noting that there is a shortage of IT professionals, Mr Kumar said there is an annual estimated demand of around 200,000 networking professionals in the country but the supply is limited to just 60 per cent of the demand.
