Haryana Police nab gang of looters

Chandigarh, May 17 (UNI) The Haryana Police has arrested a gang of looters who were fleeing after snatching a sum of Rs 8.25 lakh from a farmer of village Pega in district Jind.

A police spokesman said that Mr Nafe Singh was coming to his village after selling his agriculture land for a sum of Rs 8.25 lakh when the culprits, who were riding in car, gave him a lift.

As soon as they covered some distance, they snatched his bag containing the cash, threw Nafe Singh out of the car and fled towards Jind.

After receiving the information, the Jind police swung into action and all check posts were put under strict vigilance.

During the interrogation at one of the Nakas, the culprits-- Roshan Lal, Joginder and Harmel Singh-- were nabbed by the police and the money looted by them was recovered from them.
