Govt asks factions to vacate Phek town
Kohima, May 17 (UNI) Security have been beefed up in and around Phek town, following Tuesday's firing incident, in fear of further NSCN instigated violence.
The administration have asked all underground armed cadres, including rival factions of the NSCN to vacate the populated areas by today, official sources said.
It is apprehended that the NSCN-IM and the combined forces of NSCN(K) and Federal Government of Nagaland(FGN) may clash in the populated areas here, sources added.
Official sources said that the reinforcement of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) have been deployed in Phek town since yesterday, following the firing incident.
