Dry weather over Karnataka

Bangalore, May 17 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours here today.

Dry weather prevailed over the State.

Maximum temperatures rose at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over South Interior Karnataka; above normal being appreciably so at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and remained normal over North Interior Karnataka.

Raichur recorded highest maximum temperature of 42.7 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Farmers: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Belgaum, Dharwad, Gadag districts of North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Hassan and Shimoga districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Local forecast: Partly cloudy. Maximum temperature would be around 36 degree celsius.
