Delimitation to be completed by July

Coimbatore, May 17 (UNI) The delimitation exercise of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies would be completed by July end, Delimitation Commission Chairman Justice Kuldip Singh said here today, after a public hearing.

Talking to newspersons, he said the Commission's work was almost complete in most of the states except in Bihar and Assam, where 30 per cent of the work was pending.

Mr Singh said the delimitation exercise would be completed in Tamil Nadu within a month. A meeting of the Associate Members of the Commission in the State would be convened on May 23 at Chennai folllowed by a full meeting of the Commission, in which Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalasamy and the State Election Commissioner D Chadrasekharan would take part.

Apart from Chennai the Commission would hold the public hearing in Madurai and Tiruchirapalli shortly.
