CPI urges govt to consult parties on projects

Hyderabad, May 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Unit Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) K Narayana today urged the state Government to consult all political parties before according administrative sanctions for the major and medium irrigation projects.

In a statement here, he said it was expected of the government to discuss the matter with the political parties, in a democratic set up.

He said the state government did not discuss with the political parties before according sanction to Pranahita-Chevella and Dummagudem-Nagarjunasagar tail end irrigation projects.

He said the state government should give priority to the development of the Telangana region by utilising the Godavari river waters.

He also urged the state government to convene an all party meeting and take steps to evolve a consensus while according administrative sanctions for projects, in future.
