Consensus on Prez candidate likely: Rajnath

Thiruvananthapuram, May 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) presidentRajnath Singh today said the NDA's candidate for the Presidentialelection will be decided within a few days, but chances of majorparties arriving at a consensus on a common candidate could not beruled out. ''A consensus cannot be ruled out,'' he said, replying to aquestion while talking to newspersons on his arrival here to address arally to mark the conclusion of the State BJP's 'Janayatra' campaign.

As far as the NDA was concerned, it had authorised former PrimeMinister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to decide on its candidate, he said,adding that Mr Vajpayee would hold talks with leaders of alliancepartners and decide the candidate within a few days.
