Chouhan in St Louis to attract investment

Bhopal, May 17 (UNI) With the objective of inviting Americans and NRIs to a Global Investors' Meet scheduled here, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan -- who is leading a delegation visiting the US -- has arrived in St Louis.

May 16 was declared Madhya Pradesh Day in that city, official sources said here.

St Louis County office-bearer Charlie A Duli read out a citation that lauded the Madhya Pradesh government's efforts to attract investment. The City of St Loius Board of Aldermen expressed gratitude for the setting up of an MP Centre there.

''A revenue-surplus budget was presented in my state this time and that proves our sound economic condition. A prestigious national magazine credited Madhya Pradesh as the fastest progressing state that earned maximum survey points for rapid development of agriculture and infrastructure,'' Mr Chouhan claimed in his address.

Among those present were the US Department of Commerce's Network Director Mary Joyce, St Louis Development Corporation Executive Director R Teekim and the Redberry Corporation's Deepakkant Vyas.

The visiting delegation included state Commerce and Industry Minister Babulal Gaur and his IT counterpart Kailash Vijayvargiya.
