CCEA approves financial outlay for NACO's third phase
New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved phase three of the National AIDS Control Programme with a financial outlay of external aided component of Rs 3,121.5 crore and domestic budgetary support of Rs 418.4 crore.
The direct benefit of the programme is to reduce the transmission of HIV infection, said Finance Minister P Chidambaram after the meeting.
The initiative will halt and reverse the epidemic, he told reporters. It will provide care and support to the people living with HIV / AIDS.
The timeframe for phase three of National AIDS Control Programme is 2007-12, said Mr Chidambaram.
