Boy drowns in pond

Kohima, May 17 (UNI) A young boy met his watery grave when he had drowned in a pond near East Police station area in Dimapur town.

Official sources here today said that the boy, identified as Zakir Hussain (14) from Railway Bazar area of Dimapur town was approaching the pond for a wash, instead slipped into the water and drowned.

After autopsy at the Dimapur Civil Hospital, the body was handed over to the family members, sources added.
