Bank branches to accept advance income tax

Mumbai, May 17 (UNI) To avoid rush and long queues of the Income tax assesses, The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and 910 computerised branches of public sector and private sector banks will receive advance income tax in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

Among these banks are nine ICICI Bank branches, 19 UTI Bank branches and 13 IDBI Bank branches.

''These arrangements have been made for the convenience of the income tax assesses,'' an RBI release here today said.
