JK: Army jawan found dead at XVI Corps HQs

Jammu, May 17: An army jawan was found dead under mysterious circumstances at XVI 'White Night' Corps headquarters at Nagrota, 12 kms from here, a defence spokesman today said.

Sepoy Manbir Singh of 54 Rashtriya Rifles, who was doing a language course in Kashmiri at Corps headquarters, was found shot dead at around 0300 hrs, Jammu-based Defence spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami told UNI.

Police were investigating the cause of ''unnatural death'' of the jawan, he informed.

A court of inquiry has also been initiated by the army to ascertain the facts, the spokesman added.
