Airtel launches lifetime prepaid scheme at Rs 495 for UP

Lucknow, May 17 (UNI) On World Telecom Day, private telecom giant Airtel today launched Rs 495 lifetime recharge coupon along with tariff vouchers of Rs 47 and Rs 97 for Uttar Pradesh (East) telecom circle.

Introducing the offer, Bharati Airtel Ltd, UP East Chief Ooperating Officer (Mobility) Shanker Prasad said that Airtel UP (East) has always aimed at providing more benefits than what our customer expect. '' On World Telecom Day, we are moving another step ahead towards leveraging the customers with offers which are innovative and affordable''.

He said with Rs 495 Lifetime recharge clubbed with tariff vouchers and array of other benefits , Airtel has once again pioneered a new revolution.

The new plan offers an Airtel user full talk time on all future recharges, using a minimum of Rs 200 every 180 days to continue enjoying lifetime validity benefits. The prepaid plan will be available to all existing as well as new Airtel mobile users from tomorrow.

Mr Prasad said the Rs 47 tariff voucher will facilitate the UP (East) customers to talk local Airtel to Airtel at a call rate as low as 49 paise per minute anywhere in UP and Uttaranchal while the Rs 97 tariff voucher will allow the users to talk local Airtel to Airtel and Airtel to other mobile at the rate of 49 paise per minute in UP and Uttaranchal.

Talking about Airtel's achievement in the telecom circle, he said the cell sites would be doubled this year from 2000 and by next year all the villages with population above 5000 will be covered by the mobile network.

''Airtel would also target a penetration of 30 per cent within next two year in the circle with the present being only nine per cent,'' he further added.
